David graduated from Kailua High School, Class of 1959, and retired from Makena Surf after 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, working, and most of all, spending time with his family and being a “Great Papa.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Kaikala Sr. and Ellen Kalani Kaikala Cooper; and brother, Joe Kaikala (Eve).
He is survived by his loving wife, Susi Kaikala; children, Kawika Kaikala and Tami Kaikala (Allen); grandchildren, Tori Prieto (Roland) and Chaze Ibara (Kaiea); great-granddaughter, Kaizea-Reign Andaya-Ibara; sisters, Mollie Bechtol (Dan) and Mary Sinenci; brothers, Larry Kaikala (Sue) and George Kaikala.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Haliimaile Hall. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by eulogy and prayer at 12:00 p.m. Luncheon to follow.
