

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Ballesteros Espeleta; his children Teddy (Rose) Espeleta, Sonia Collado, Judy (Danny) Savella, Edward (Shelly) Espeleta; his grandchildren, Teddy Mike Pastores, Joy Espeleta, Taylor-Ann Collado, Nathan Savella, Trevor Savella, Kiara Espeleta and Dresyn Espeleta, Great grandchildren: Bruce Ramos-Espeleta and Bethany Ramos-Espeleta. Edward is survived by his brothers, Alfredo (Helen Grace) Espelita, Honorato (Angela) Espelita and sister, Marieta Macabeo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, brother in-laws, sister in-laws and cousins.
Edward was predeceased by his parents; Aniceto & Alejandra Espeleta as well as his brother Arsenio Espeleta and sister Felisa Mamasig.
He served in the United States Navy from 1956 thru 1966. He retired from Maui Pineapple Company in 1996 as a construction mechanic. He loved fishing, gardening, being a vendor at the Kaahumanu Center swap meet on Wednesdays to sell their home grown fruits and vegetables with his wife, spending time with family but most of all traveling to Las Vegas.
Service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at St Joseph Church in Makawao. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. followed by Mass beginning at 11 a.m. Burial service will be at Makawao Veterans Cemetery precisely at 1 p.m.
The family would like to express a heartfelt gratitude to their family and friends for all the support, kind words and prayers. Also much mahalos to the Kaiser physicians and their staff members-Dr. Mary Kingma-Noland, Dr. Maria Termulo, Dr. Kari Jones, the staff at Liberty Dialysis (Maui Lani) and Hospice Maui.
