A Vietnam Veteran, he served from 1969 to 1971 as an avionic communications repairman. Eddie was an automotive repairman by trade. He was predeceased by his father, Mitsuru Kitashima and son, David Kitashima. He is survived by his mother, Myrna Kaholokula Kitashima; his wife, Monica Kitashima; daughters, Lisa Marie (Clint) Pahia, Michelle N. Kitashima (Randall Hau'oli) Konohia and Dominique (Jesse) Salazar; his brothers, Clifford Kitashima, Michael Kitashima and Daniel Kitashima; grandchildren, Liahona, CJ, Izabella, Lyla, Hazaiah and Miró.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Kalanikahua Hou Protestant Church in Haiku with service to begin at 10:30 a.m.
