Elena Cardenas Haban, 86, of Wailuku, Maui, formerly of Lanai City, passed away on May 25, 2017, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on November 13, 1930, in the Philippines.Wake will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Lanai Community Filipino Clubhouse. Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary on Lanai. Burial will follow, at Lanai Cemetery.Elena was a retired picker at Dole Company on Lanai. She is survived by her husband, Fausto Haban; sons, Salvador (Myrna) Haban Sr., Luis (Virgie) Haban, Albreto (Fely) Haban, Larry Haban; daughters, Tita Sabilala, Teresita (Ramon) Villa, Catalina Llego, Anita (Rolando) Rabacal; 25 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.The family would like to thank Maui Memorial Medical Center and staff for the care given to Elena during this difficult time.
