Eric Ramon, 55, of Napili, Hawaii went to his heavenly home way too soon in the early morning hours of January 29, 2024 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Wailuku, Maui on February 22, 1968 to Paulette Ramon & Jules Ramon (deceased).
Eric graduated from Maui High School in 1986 where he played in the band for 4 years and while also working at Foodland in Pukalani. He joined the Army right out of high school where it took him to several places–Fort Jackson, SC, Fort Benjamin Harrison, IN, Fort Polk (now Fort Johnson) in Louisiana, and Camp Casey in South Korea. After his time in the Army, he returned to Maui and served in the Air National Guard for a few more years.
Eric made lots of friends over the years while working at a few places–Woolworth’s in Kahului and manager at the Lahaina location, Crazy Shirts, Tiffany’s and Baron & Leeds at Whalers Village, Kapalua Security and the Montage Kapalua Bay as Security.
Eric was a self taught tekkie. From a very young age, he was always taking things apart and putting them back together. Legos, Lincoln Logs, Building Blocks, Tinker Toys and many more….sometimes even all at once all over the floor of the living room. From there, it went to bigger items like his saxophone, the cars he had (especially all the different Camaros he owned over the years).More recently, it was being a self taught computer geek. That was Eric, the handsome geek!
Eric is survived by his loving mother Paulette Ramon, sisters Lorna Ramon & Renate (Greg) Syme, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great & great-great nieces and nephews. Eric is predeceased by his father Jules Ramon and his brothers Michael & Edward Ramon.
Services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku from 6-9pm with service at 7pm. Burial over Urn will be on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Maui Veterans Cemetery starting at 1pm.
Eric’s family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the ER, OR, ICU and 5th Floor units at Maui Memorial Medical Center who were very supportive of Eric and our family throughout the last week of his life. Mahalo for all you do!
