

Harry Manuel Gomes, 88 of Makawao, Hawaii went to his eternal rest on January 10, 2026 at his home in Makawao. He was born in Paia Hospital on March 11, 1937 to the late Manuel and Amy (Sakamoto) Gomes of Makawao.
He attended St. Joseph Grade School and St. Anthony High School. He graduated from Maui Technical School and received his degree and was licensed as an Automotive Mechanic. In his early years he was a Go-Cart Racer who became a two-time state champion. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Church and a Vietnam Veteran who received a Bronze Star. He was employed by the Hawaii Army National Guard with over 30 years of Full-time service at the Motor-Pool Baseyard in Paukukalo.
Harry loved Hunting, Fishing, Camping and watching University of Hawaii Sporting Events. He also enjoyed going riding on weekends especially to Lahaina. He enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas, going to car shows and especially to Disneyland with his granddaughter Shanelle.
He is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Lorraine DeLima Gomes and Son Gregory Gomes. He is survived by his Daughter Debra (Lorenzo) Alipio, Son Shelby (Ronnelle Suda) Gomes, Son Jeffrey (Tami Calhau) Gomes, Granddaughter Shanelle (Michael) Kinores, Great-Grandson Brayden Kinores and Great-Granddaughter Brielle Kinores. He is also survived by his sisters, Rozelle Kauhaahaa, Harriet Sardinha (his twin) and Charlotte Pauole. He is pre-deceased by his sisters Irene Vares and Juliet English.
Funeral Services will be held on February 5, 2026 at St. Joseph Church in Makawao from 8:15 am to 10:30 am with Mass starting at 11:00 am. Burial Services to begin at 1:00 pm @ Maui Veterans Cemetery.
