Hermelinda Cabuco

Hermelinda Torricer Cabuco, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family, with her loved ones by her side.

Hermelinda was born on January 22, 1953, in Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to the late Mariano Torricer Sr. and Calixta Torricer. She was a kind and gentle soul who was always ready to help anyone around her. Her generous heart and caring nature made her someone people could always turn to. She had a beautiful way of making others feel loved and cared for. She was also a woman of incredible strength, dedication, and perseverance.

Hermelinda worked two jobs for many years, devoting herself to hard work and providing for the people she loved. For 30 years she worked full-time at Hyatt Regency Maui in the housekeeping department, where she spent her days working as a housekeeper. After completing her full-time work, she would continue working part-time at Ritz Carlton in the evenings, also in housekeeping department. She worked at Ritz Carlton for 23 years. She also worked at Westin Maui Resort & Spa for 10 years.

After many years of dedicated service, Hermelinda retired in 2020. Retirement allowed her to enjoy a more peaceful chapter of her life, spending precious time with her loving husband, Estanislao Cabuco, and enjoying the life they had built together.

Hermelinda is survived by her loving husband, Estanislao Cabuco & his children Jaime (Precy) Cabuco, Josefina Lazarte, Julita (Ernesto) Ancheta, Juanito (Edna) Cabuco, Junior (Shirley) Cabuco and 16 grandchildren, her nephew Ryan (Teresa) Tapucol and her grandchildren Ryx Terenz Tapucol & Ryk Jyren Tapucol. Her siblings: Teresita (Jose) Pagay, Adela (Constantino) Tobia, Pacita (Dennis) Doerfler, Shirley (Marcial) Tababa, Marlene (Carlos) Alfonso, Glenn (Joy) Torricer, Rubina (Tim) Corder and Mariano Jr (Annaliza) Torricer. She also leaves behind countless beloved aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mariano Torricer Sr. and Calixta Torricer.

Funeral Services to celebrate Hermelinda’s life will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Maria Lanakila Catholic Church in Lahaina. Public Visitation starts at 9:00 a.m. Following the funeral service Hermelinda will be laid to rest at Maui Memorial Park at 2:00pm.
