

Jane Mahealani (Delatori) Niles Caban, 93 of Makawao went to her eternal home peacefully surrounded by her loving ʻohana. Born and raised in Lahaina, she was a proud alumna of the prestigious Kamehameha Schools Class of 1950, a devoted member of Kingʻs Cathedral and the inspiration behind Upcountry Strong.
Jane lived her life with deep faith and an abiding love for the Lord. She was the heart of her large family and the proud mother of 7 children, Kimo (Annette) Niles of Kula, Charlie/Kawi Niles of Makawao, Kepa Niles of Kula, Kanani Niles of Keaʻau, Phyllis Wong of Makawao, Marnah (Mark) Delacruz of Kihei, the late Stretch Caban (Sheldean Dudoit) and 3 stepchildren. Her legacy continues through 38 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
Known for her radiant smile, Jane loved to dance, and attending church brought her great joy. She was also a master lei maker, celebrated for her beautiful creations that carried the spirit of aloha in every twist and strand. Her laughter, warmth, and faith filled her home and blessed the lives of all who knew her.
Janeʻs life was a beautiful testimony of love, joy, and devotion to God and family. She is our lei poinaʻole, our love for her knows no end.
