Janet "Jan" Miller Dapitan, age 84, died on December 30, 2019 at her home in Wailuku surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Dapitan was born on August 10, 1935 at Mitchell Dam, Alabama.
She is survived by her sisters, Barbara (Taylor) Davis of Altoona, Alabama and Jeannine Wingard of Abbeville, Alabama; two children, Kela (Ruth) Murchison, and Kalani David (Janice) Dapitan; 5 step-daughters, Charlotte Dapitan Figueroa, Ellen Dapitan Kaililaau, Kehau (Nick) Dapitan Samudio, Kina Dapitan, and Luka (Wesley) Dapitan Ladera; three stepsons, Charles Jr., George (Dottie) Dapitan, Aukake (Peggy) Dapitan; 32 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews near and afar. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Dapitan Sr.; and son, Craig Murchison.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wailuku Community Center on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. The community is welcome at 4:00 p.m. with program to begin at 5:00 p.m.
