John "Jack" Harris Sample, 64, of Maalaea, Maui, passed away on January 9, 2018. He was born on August 15, 1953, in Spokane, Washington.Jack retired from the U.S. Navy. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his brother, James Sample; sister, Katherine (Michael Sr.) Freitas; nephew, Michael Freitas, Jr.; and niece, Janda Sample.Service over urn will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018, at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao. Service starts at 11:00 a.m. with in-urnment to immediately follow. The family requests casual attire.
