Kandy Kaleikapu Raymond Meriales, 54, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, in Kihei, Hawaiʻi.
Born on July 18, 1972, in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, Kandy was the daughter of the late George Raymond and Elizabeth Young. She graduated from Nanakuli High School in 1990 and later made Maui her home, where she built a life centered around family, hard work, and caring for others.
Kandy was a hardworking woman who took great pride in the work she did. She was part of the opening team at the Grand Wailea, where she worked in stewarding for more than 10 years. She later spent over 20 years with Walmart, working in customer service and the Money Center. Throughout her many years of working, Kandy became known for her kindness, dedication, and the way she treated everyone with warmth and respect.
Those who knew Kandy will remember her as a loving, caring, and hardworking woman who could always put a smile on someone’s face. She had a heart for helping others, and if she was able to lend a hand, she would. Her genuine kindness and caring nature touched many people throughout her life.
In her free time, Kandy enjoyed the simple things that brought her happiness. She loved watching WWE wrestling, working on her puzzle books, watching her favorite shows, listening to music, and especially singing karaoke. Whether she was enjoying a favorite song or simply relaxing at home, Kandy knew how to appreciate the little things in life that brought her joy.
Kandy’s greatest legacy will always be the love she shared with her family. She is survived by her sons, Jomer, Jannon, and Jerney Meriales, and her former husband, John Meriales. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Raymond and Elizabeth Young, and her sisters, Kim Burdett and Kelly Raymond.
Kandy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, coworkers, and all those whose lives she touched. Her loving heart, beautiful smile, and willingness to help others will forever remain in the memories of those who were blessed to know her.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku. Public viewing will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by a service at 7:00 p.m.
