

Marcelino “Celin” Vivit Riglos Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2025. He was born on August 9, 1959, in San Juan (Surngit), Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to Marciano and Nieves Riglos, who preceded him in death.
Marcelino dedicated many years of hard work as a painter, working with Endo, JD, and Elegant Painting. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and reliability.
Celin loved the outdoors and found joy in fishing, picking ‘opihi, and diving. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pepito, watching Filipino movies, following sports, and most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness.
Marcelino was a humble, caring, and loving man who touched the lives of everyone around him. He was known for his gentle nature, kind heart, and quiet strength. Celin had a fun-loving side and enjoyed sharing laughter, stories, and simple moments with family and friends. His generosity, warmth, and genuine care for others will always be remembered.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Maria Riglos; his sons, Michael Riglos and Marc (Kari) Riglos; and his daughter, Marie-Chelle (Jotham) Mortejo. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Chanelle Mortejo, Jace Mortejo, Madison Riglos, Mila Riglos, and Makenna Riglos.
Marcelino is also survived by his siblings: Efren (Lorgin) Riglos, Jorge (Riza) Riglos, Bernardo (Amy) Riglos, Godofredo (Rita) Riglos, and Tessie (Benjamin) Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his brothers Juanito (Rhea) Riglos and Gilbert (Sally) Riglos.
A funeral service to celebrate Marcelino’s life will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Norman’s Mortuary, with Family Visitation at 5:00 p.m., Public Visitation at 6:00 p.m., and Service at 7:00 p.m. A second funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Christ the King Church, with Family Visitation at 8:30 a.m., Public Visitation at 9:00 a.m., and Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Maui Memorial Park at 12:30 p.m., with lunch afterward at Christ the King Hall.
Marcelino “Celin” Vivit Riglos Sr. will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, humility, love for his family, and the joy he brought into the lives of all who knew him.
