Margaret Mildred Medeiros, 107, of Wailuku, passed away peacefully at her home on February 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Her gentle passing was a blessing and a comfort to those who held her dear.
Born on December 7, 1918, in Wailuku, Margaret was the cherished daughter of Manuel Silva and Mary (Texeira) Silva, both of whom have passed on. She lived an extraordinary 107 years—a remarkable milestone that reflected not only longevity, but strength, resilience, and a life well lived.
Even at 107 years old, Margaret remained strong and remarkably healthy, a testament to her enduring vitality and independent spirit. Her family often marveled at her strength, grateful for the many full and active years they were blessed to share with her. Living to 107 is an amazing blessing, and she carried those years with grace and dignity.
Margaret was the beloved wife of William Robello Medeiros, who passed away in 1999. Together they built a strong foundation of faith and family that continues through generations.
She found great joy in sewing, cooking, and crocheting—sharing her talents generously with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Her hands were rarely still, and through every carefully sewn stitch and lovingly prepared meal, she expressed her deep love for her family. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and tradition.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Rose Marie (the late George) Brown, Mildred (the late Dickie) Andrade, and Germaine Reyes Medeiros; her son, William “Billy” Medeiros; and her daughters-in-law’s, Ruth Medeiros and Melita Medeiros. She was joined in spirit by her daughter, Yvonne Medeiro, who passed away at the age of 1; her son, Malcolm (Ruth) Medeiros, who passed away in 2000, her son, Rodney (Melita) Medeiros, who passed away in 2023, and her great grandson Johnathan Tyau.
Margaret’s legacy continues through her 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Few are blessed with such a long and meaningful life, and her family takes great comfort in knowing she lived it fully—with strength, grace, and unwavering love.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Maui and the nurses of Kaiser for their compassionate care and support.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Norman's Mortuary. Family visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by public visitation at 9:00 a.m., with services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery.
