Nancy J. Vorhies (81), of Kula, Hawaiʻi, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Wailuku. She was a devoted and loving mother of five, whose life was centered on family, hard work, and caring for others.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 27 at 9:30am, followed by Mass at 10:30am at Holy Ghost Church in Kula. Lunch to follow in church hall.
Nancy was born in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, and moved to Maui in 1961, where she attended and graduated from Saint Anthony High School. She made Kula her home, raising her family with deep love and dedication alongside her husband.
She is survived by her children: Heather (Bill) Snipes, James Vorhies (Dale Agena), Andrew (Michelle) Vorhies, Christine Kulamanu (Darrin) Ishihara, and Noelani Vorhies; her siblings, Diana McRae of Washington and David Dolan of San Francisco; six cherished grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Irving James “Kimo” Vorhies, and her sister, Pamela Gordon.
Throughout her life, Nancy lovingly raised her five children while also supporting her husband in their landscape maintenance business. Together, they dedicated many years of service as business owners, working for First Hawaiian Bank and Haleakalā Ranch. Her strong work ethic, generosity, and quiet devotion left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Kula Hospital—especially Dr. Scott, Lucky, and the 4th Floor staff—as well as the Maui Health Staff of Molokai East and the Palliative Care team, for their compassionate care and support during Nancy’s final year.
Nancy will be remembered for her unwavering love, resilience, and the deep bonds she built with her family. She will be profoundly missed and forever held in our hearts.
