Tasha faithfully served her community as a pastor with The Christian Ministry Church and as a proud member of the Maui County Council, representing Kahului since 2018. Throughout her life, some key leadership roles she held, included serving on the State Council of Hawaiian Homestead Associations, as President of the Keōkea Hawaiian Homes Farmers Association, as a parent representative on the Hawaiʻi State Council on Developmental Disabilities, and as a social justice organizer with Faith Action for Community Equity (FACE) Maui. She worked tirelessly to uplift and advocate for kūpuna, individuals with disabilities, Native peoples, and the houseless community. Her heart for service guided every season of her life.
Tasha loved relaxing to the Hallmark Channel and listening to gospel and Hawaiian music. She enjoyed hosting her family and friends, especially her Nā Pua ʻIlima hui. One of her favorite pastimes was taking her grandchildren to Da Tambayan Corner Food Trucks to enjoy a meal together while she shared her knowledge on how to properly clean something, how to correctly fold an item, how to work hard, and how to enjoy good food and conversation. She loved talking story and being surrounded by those she loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in the Castle Theater at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Public visitation with family will begin at 9:00 a.m., with services at 10:30 a.m. Lunch to follow in the Yokouchi Pavilion & Courtyard.
Her love of God, strong faith, and legacy of service to her community will forever remain in our hearts.
