Paulette went to her heavenly home in the early hours of October 24, 2026 at Hospice Maui Hale in Wailuku. She was born in Puunene Hospital on Valentine’s Day in 1942. She attended Puunene School, Holy Rosary School & St. Anthony Girls School and graduated in 1960.
She was chosen to work for the Air Force Ballistic Missile Division in Inglewood, CA for 2 years before coming back home to attend Maui Technical School (now UHMC) in 1962 while working as a waitress at Club Rodeo in Makawao. She got her certificate in Stenography in 1964. Mom met dad in 1964 there on March 1st and they were married 2 months later on May 2nd. Dad had a way of sweeping ladies off their feet very quickly.
While we were growing up, mom was a Kindergarten Catechism Teacher for a few years. After Eric & I started high school, mom went back to work–Dairy Queen, Shirokiya, and then Maui Community College as clerk stenographer from 1988 until retirement in 2004.
After retirement, mom loved to travel–sometimes with dad (which were short ones) but mostly she had the best times spending time with family and traveling with me almost everywhere. California, Florida, Tennessee, most of the East Coast, Pacific Northwest–even all the way to Portugal, the Azores & Madeira. Her favorite places were Disney (both), Texas (Dallas Cowboys fan forever) and of course Graceland. She was an OG Elvis fan. Her last couple of trips were going to finally meet Priscilla Presley in CA & seeing Journey in Honolulu.
