Philemon Sagon

Philemon “Sonny” Sagon, 92 of Kahului, Maui, formerly of Haliimaile, has peacefully passed on Friday, February 14, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Haliimaile, Maui Hawaii on May 9th, 1927 to the late Fleming and Gloria Martellas Sagon. Predeceased wife Marcelina “Louise” Marks.

Although he is no longer here, he will continue to live in the hearts of his children, Raymond (Brenda deceased) Katherine (Jason) Chung, Arthur (Lila), Laureen (Juan deceased)Espinosa, Robin (Sandy Hew), Hanai daughter Shanime Morondos); siblings, Sisters Agnes (Juanitodeceased)Balderas , Madeline “Nina” (Walter deceased) Tavares; Brothers Herbert (Ingrid), Abel (Priscilla), Adam (deceased)Rose, Lawrence “Jimmy” (Lydia); 12 grandchildren, 3 hanai grandchildren,16 great grandchildren,1 hanai great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Norman’s Mortuary from 6:00 p.m. with prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Services are to continue on Friday, March 27, 2020 at Norman’s Mortuary from 9:00 a.m. with service to begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial is to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Valley Isle Memorial Park Cemetery in Haiku.

The Sagon Ohana wishes to express a heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice Maui for their compassionate care of Sonny.
