

Richard Dean Hixenbaugh, 95, of Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii, passed away on November 8, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Denver, Colorado on October 13, 1930 to Ralph Edgar Hixenbaugh and Grace Amelia Veach. Though he was born in Denver, Richard grew up in Loveland, Colorado.
After Richard completed High School, he joined the Air Force and Married Beverly Wagner, they had 5 children and traveled all over the United States. After his military service he worked as a service manager at Annex Motors in San Rafael, CA. He also worked at Hickman’s Chevron and Tillet’s 76 in Mill Valley, CA. While working in Mill he met Mary Ann Ideue, they married in 1976 and spent the next 24 years enjoying family and friends, traveling, golfing, good food and wine.
Richard is survived by son’s Steven Royce (Stella) Hixenbaugh, Danny Greg (Dana) Hixenbaugh; daughter Tami (Gerald) Hixenbaugh-Buchmann; grandchildren Ej (Lisa) Hixenbaugh, Chrystal (Michael) Hixenbaugh-Stephens, Shanna (Don) Hixenbaugh-Son, Sky Lo-Hixenbaugh, Tanya (Bryan) Hixenbaugh-Wonderly, Richard (Jillian) Dean, Andrew, Ben, Melanie; and great-grandchildren Natalie, Dean, Nolan, Elliott, Clyde, Oliver, Hank, Quincey, and Michael.
He is predeceased by his wife Mary Ann Hixenbaugh and sons Richard (Linda) Dean Hixenbaugh and Ronnie Lynn Hixenbaugh.
A committal service will take place at 9:00 am on Tuesday, January 20th 2025 at Maui Veterans Cemetery.
