Roel P Malijana

He passed away in his home, surrounded by loved ones. Survived by his wife of 37 years, Jean Janet and his children- daughters: Rojane & Rowelle Leanne “Leah” and sons: Roel Jr. & Roven RV.

He was born to Rogelio & Ofelia Malijana on August 14, 1966 in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Roel moved to Lahaina, Maui in 1988 where he raised his family. He was a hard

worker- dedicating years of service to Hyatt Regency Maui and Kaanapali Shores in the stewarding and utilities departments, building friendships spanning over 30 years.

Days off were spent resting, listening to music, and spending time with his grandchildren- Ronin, Jaxin, & Darien Dimaya, and his princess, Avni Belle Malijana. He was a warm hearted,

giving man, soft spoken but always wore a welcoming smile. Through hard-fought years against his cancer diagnosis, Roel still found the moments to smile amongst his loved ones, maintaining his warm, loving presence that he was always known for.

Roel is survived by Rogelio Malijana- father, Ofelia Malijana- mother, Jean Janet Malijana- wife, Rojane Malijana- daughter, Rowelle Leanne Malijana- daughter, Roel Jr. Malijana- son,

Roven RV Malijana- son, Ronin Cole Dimaya- grandson, Jaxin Liam Dimaya- grandson, Darien Luca Dimaya- grandson, Avni Belle Malijana- grand daughter.

His family would like to thank the caring staff of Maui Health, Maui Care Physicians and Hospice Maui. Also thanks to the support from his families at Kaanapali Shores and Hyatt

Regency.

Roel’s service will be held on the evening of Friday, August 29th at Norman’s Mortuary, Wailuku from 6-9 pm. He will have a prayer on the morning of August 30th at Maria Lanakila Church, Lahaina from 9-11 am and his burial will follow at 12 noon at Valley Isle Memorial Park, Haiku.
