Kahului, Hawaii – Soledad Paet Vinoray, 75, of Kahului, Maui, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 31, 2025. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who cherished every moment with her children and grandchildren.
Soledad was born in Paing Bantay, Philippines, on June 15, 1950, to Maximo and Venancia Paet. She was the eldest of 8 children and had many fond memories of growing up in the Philippines before moving to Maui in 1969.
Soledad worked as a sales associate at Walmart for 23+ years. She loved interacting with customers and took pride in her work—so much so that she refused to retire. Her warmth and dedication left a lasting impression on both coworkers and customers alike.
She truly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends. Known for her generous spirit and exceptional cooking, Soledad often brought her loved ones together for family gatherings, where her favorite dishes were always a highlight.
A woman of strong faith, Soledad was a dedicated Catholic and a longtime parishioner at Christ the King Church. She attended Mass faithfully every Sunday and shared her angelic voice as a cherished member of the church choir.
Outside of church and family, Soledad found joy in traveling—especially to Las Vegas, where she loved spending time at the casinos, trying her luck on the Buffalo slot machines and playing Pai Gow poker.
Soledad lived life with a joyful heart and an open spirit. Her favorite saying, “Why not!”, captured her adventurous and optimistic outlook on life—always ready to try something new, embrace the moment, or make someone smile.
Soledad is predeceased by her parents, Maximo and Venancia Paet; her beloved son, Guy (Melanie Chan) Vinoray; her sister, Cely (Max) Parilla; and brothers Joventino (Linda) Paet and Andy (Marciel) Paet.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Germaine (Poli Caliva) Vinoray; siblings Lucy (Ramon) Manlansing, Larry (Stacey) Paet, Martin (Sheri) Paet, and Roger (Mary Jane) Paet; and grandchildren Hailey, Hunter, Kamryn, Zoey, Esperanza, MacKenzie, Noah, Taylor, Tori, and Tyra. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Funeral services will be held at Christ the King Church on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Maui Memorial Medical Center, Hale Makua – Wailuku, Island Hospice, Fresenius Kidney Care, Kihei Wailea Medical Center and the HMSA representatives for their compassionate care and support during Soledad’s final days.
