

She attended St. Joseph Grade School, graduated from St. Anthony High School and went on to attend Maui Community College becoming a professional seamstress.
She worked at a clothing store, and at Kress Store until she got married. After the boys got older she worked at Seabury Hall where
she retired as a baker and kitchen help.
Sylvia loved her plants, going to garage sales, going to mass daily at St. Joseph’s and weekends at St. Rita Church, working at St. Joseph’s thrift shop (affectionately known as the Makawao Macy’s).
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Edward McCoy Perreira; son, Brian Perreira; brothers, August Canha, Jordan Canha, and Abraham Stanley Canha. She is survived by her sons, W. Joey Perreira (Karen), and Russell Perreira (Teresa Thielk); her sister, Anita Sing; her sisters in law Alberta Canha, and Karen Canha; her grandchildren, Michael Perreira (Morgan Kearney), Jovaughn Manoa, and Neriah Thielk; great granddaughter, Adeline Agnes Perreira; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all who have given their condolences and aloha. Thank you to Aunty Alberta and Mary Catherine McGinley, Sylvia’s dearest of friends, especially to her caregiver Lori Torres.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at St. Joseph Church in Makawao,Visitation at 9:00 a.m., Mass 11:00 a.m., Burial at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church Cemetery
