

It is with deep love and heavy hearts that our ‘ohana announce the passing of Valentine “Tino” “Kaiʻa” Rosete on July 20, 2025, at the age of 84, while surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at the Maui Hospice Hale.
Our family finds solace in knowing that after 20 years of longing, our dad and Papa, was granted his sweet heavenly reunion with the love of his life of 45 years — his “Lady Love”, Winona “Nona” Joyce Rosete, who passed in 2005.
A true Kahului boy, straight out of high school he went to work and became a very skilled carpenter, in which he did for many years before going into auto body and paint work. He eventually retired as a Valet for the Maui Marriott Resort. He loved to dive, fish and play golf.
He is survived by his 5 children - Vance (Cameo) Rosete, Vince “Buddy” Rosete, Venus (Justin) Rosete-Medeiros, Valentine “Tino” (Patty) Rosete Jr., and Vinton Rosete. His favorite role was being “Papa” to his 18 grandchildren - Nikki (John), Josh (Faith), Makana (Cliff), Shay (Tiffany), Vance, Ekela (Jake), Courtney (Kade), Alakaʻi, Kaiʻa (Sam), Danielle (Rom), Tia Elisha, Greg (Jessa), Justin III (Tyler), Kuʻuipo, Keoni (Lela), Kylie (Sebastian), Cassidy (Solomon), Kaʻimilani, and his 21 great grandchildren - Natea, Osema, Anaiah, Riann, Evan, Tyler, Braxten, Blayze, Aiden, Trent, Grayson, Cohen, Isla, Vade, Kaz Michael, Haʻaheo, Ava, Rylee, Urijah, Kawainui, and one more boy on the way.
He is also survived by 2 of his sisters – Ilonia “Pāʻū” Porras and Winona “Momi” Naito. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Kai’a” to many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 22 from 6pm – 9pm at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku, Maui.
