William “Willy” Kamoa Saltiban, 67, of Kīhei, Maui, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Kīhei. He was born on January 15, 1958, in Kula, Maui, and was the beloved son of the late Fermin Saltiban and the late Caroline (Kuhaulua) Benton.
Willy spent many years working as a bellhop at the Sheraton Maui. He later took pride in his work as an engineer maintenance professional at the Maui Coast Hotel, a position he devoted himself to until his retirement. Even after retiring, Willy continued to stay active in the community, working part-time at Lahaina Petroleum’s car wash.
A man of many passions, Willy loved old cars and could often be found admiring, talking about, or working on classic vehicles. He was also proud to be a member of the Maui Classic Car group. With a natural talent for landscaping and gardening, he brought beauty and care to every space he touched. Music was another lifelong love—whether playing or listening, it filled his days with joy and connection.
Willy is survived by his siblings: Lenora “Maka” Saltiban, Carol Ann Saltiban, Valerie Nahoopii, and Lloyd Saltiban; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, his sister Josephine Sinenci, and his brothers Fermin Saltiban Jr. and Torrance Saltiban.
Willy’s presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Kama‘ole Beach Park III. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., with services at 9:00 a.m., followed by the scattering of ashes at 10:30 a.m., and a luncheon to follow.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for all the love, support, and prayers during this time. They would also like to send a special thank you to Norman’s Mortuary, Kahu Wayne Higa, and Rodney Camilles.
