Deborah Jean Stephenson Holland, lovingly known as Debbie, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025. Born on January 14, 1949, Debbie grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia, where she was raised by her grandparents, who meant the world to her.
Debbie eventually made her home in Waldorf, Maryland, a place where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and community. She took tremendous joy in watching her three boys grow up and was endlessly proud of the men they became. Over the years, she also took great pride in helping raise many of the kids in the neighborhood, becoming a steady, comforting presence for countless families.
Debbie worked for many years as a dedicated bookkeeper, but her true passions shined through in her crafting and collecting. She poured her creativity into her work, often filling her flea market booths with handmade treasures. Running those booths brought her genuine happiness, allowing her to share her creations and connect with her community.
Debbie loved Jesus deeply, and her faith guided her throughout her life. She carried a quiet, steadfast belief that brought her peace, strength, and comfort, especially in difficult moments.
She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Steven Everett Holland, as well as the grandparents who lovingly raised her.
She is survived by her two sons, Braxton Lenville Holland II and Kelly Nichols Holland; her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Holland; her cherished grandchildren, Lindsey Holland, Zachery Holland, Kelsie Holland, Zachary Willett, and Krista Morris; and her great-grandchildren, Tanner Morris and Skyler Morris.
Debbie will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, generosity, deep love for her family, and unwavering faith. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched.
