My deepest condolences go out to your family Sandy. I was stationed with Ed at the Corkscrew site for five years, but my most memorable experience was his invitation to go hunting with him at the family hunting camp in NY.  Ed and I took the canoe down river one morning and Ed told me to go to the top of a ridge, which I did. I was actually basking in the sun, laying on a rock when I heard the brush above me.  To make a long story short, I got a 10 point buck which Ed entered into a big buck contest and won two cases of beer for the camp. Ed's family really made me fill welcome and part of his family during that week of hunting. I always wanted to return the experience to my Montana home, but never had the opportunity which I regret. Thanks for the memory Ed.  My prayers go out to your family.

So sorry to hear about Ed.  I was assigned to WHCA 1968 through 1974.  I did know him well.  However, we served the same site at times.  I am pleased to have shared those times together with him.  Karen and I send our thoughts and prayers to his wife and family.  Until our journeys meet again in the beyond, God be with him.

Ed was always the one to find time for humor even under pressure to get systems working on our many trips in support of the President.  He was always my standard for what all Navy Chief's should emulate.  Ed and his colleagues in the SATCOM shop were all like brothers to each other.

Ed and I worked together for several years at the White House Communications Agency. He was a key worker on our Team in providing quick-reaction telecommunications support to the President, Vice-President, etc. I am so sorry to hear of his passing; a real shock to learn of this today via an email message. I could recount many stories of his dedication, expertise and unique personality, however, his HUMOR & GRIN are two of the most memorable traits that come to mind today. I remember on one high-stress and time-sensitive Presidential trips overseas when Ed proved his mettle and expertise in the RF area. Our Satellite Terminal failed just as the President was on final approach at the foreign airport. Ed took it upon himself to dismantle and troubleshoot the SATCOM system and he was able to get us back on the air in minimal time. When I asked Ed how he was able to repair the system so quickly he replied: "Chief, it's just another radio system and I repair radios"! He showed that well known Lormore grin, and just shuffled away. He was recognized for his tireless efforts by the General Officer in charge of our Agency. Ed became a 'WHCA Legend' to me at that time, and we worked together for years after that providing Crisis & Contingency Communications to the President on many, many trips. If there are radios in Heaven, Ed is working on them today! Stand at attention and Hand Salute! GOD grant you rest my friend - you deserve it!

Ed was not only a college but a friend. I did enjoy our lunches catching up with people and events. I will miss him very much. My prayers go out to Sandy and his boys.

Ed was our colleague and friend.  He had a lengthy and very impressive career in satellite communications.  He was a true professional and took great care in making sure things were always done right.  We all enjoyed working with him over the past several years and he will be sorely missed.  Our thoughts and condolences are with the family.

I knew Ed briefly but developed a close friendship over time.  Ed was a great guy and he will be missed.  Sandy i will keep you and your family in my prayers.
