Irene A. Jenkins

Irene was a daycare provider for over 30 years in Accokeek opening up her heart and home to countless families in the community. She enjoyed going shopping, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Her pride and joy were her granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her mother Irene Catherine Donahue; brothers Donald O'Rourke and Thomas O'Rourke; and sisters Joanne Pickett and Marianne McNicholas.

Irene is survived by her husband Robert Clarence Jenkins of 47 years; son Robert Dale Jenkins and wife Renee; daughter Irene Catherine Jenkins and husband Cedric Welch; sisters Jeraldine LeWinter and Patricia O'Rourke; brothers Frank Donahue and Brian Donahue; and her 3 granddaughters Brooke, Mackenna and Amelia.

A memorial service will be held on December 6, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. James' Episcopal Church, Indian Head, Maryland.
