

James Manley was born on June 10, 1964 in Washington D.C. as a child, his family moved from D.C. to North Carolina. As an adult, his favorite thing to do was to reminisce about the brilliant blue skies in his hometown of Vaughn.
James was passionate about his woodworking, spending many years in Hawaii honing his skills. He made many items, including musical instruments which he also loved to play. He was involved in many bands including Island Storm as well as Kupono. He was also involved in many halaus within the D.C./Maryland/Virginia area.
He is survived by his four children; James “Kamakani” Manley, Keenen Manley, Katelyn Banyai, and Laila Manley. He is also survived by two grandchildren, James Manley and Benjamin Banyai.
James has 10 living siblings; Evelyn Debman, Hattie Taborn, Eula Metra Manley, LaShaun Kershaw, Valeria Jackson, Annie Burgess, Lee Roy Manley Jr., Victoria Manley, Michelle Daye Manley, and Claud Manley. He the brother-in law of Kurtis Burgess, Lee Debman, William Tabron, Samuel Kershaw, and Jeffery Jackson. He has one sister in law, Shae Manley. James had one living aunt, Willie Mae Tuck and one step father, Eugene Bowls.
