John Hancock Clagett III, a loving husband and father, passed away on February 25, 2024. He was born on July 11, 1943, in Washington DC, to John Hancock Clagett, Jr. and Jenny DeWilde. He grew up in Forestville, Maryland and later moved to the Clagett family farm in Accokeek, Maryland.
With a passion for photography he pursued a career in photography and had his own photography business. He worked on Capitol Hill for 30 years as the Lab Manager in charge of developing congressional photos.
On April 11, 1964 he married Sharon Elizabeth Singleton. They built a house on Cedar Hill Farm and raised three children.
He is preceded in death by Sharon and his son Jeffery Peter Clagett. He is survived by son John Hancock Clagett IV of Accokeek, MD; daughter Christina Elizabeth Barbour (Michael) of Abell, MD; granddaughter Virginia Elizabeth Barbour of Abell, MD.
