Funeral Services will be held at Loflin Funeral Home in Ramseur, N.C. on Saturday July 12, 2025. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty, N.C..He was born in Washington, DC & relocated to N.C. in 1991. He was a plumber by trade & a volunteer firefighter for both Oxon Hill, Md. & Staley, N.C.
He is preceded in death by his late wife Alma M. Porter and his parents Charles & Barbara Porter.
Survived by his wife Crystal Porter and his Children Fay (Clay) Morgan of N.C., Bonnie (Chris) Kirk of Md., Susan (Tim) Matthews of Fla. & John (Jan) Porter, Jr. of Md.
He had 10 Grandchildren & 26 Great Grandchildren & his sister Betty Cole of N.C.
