Obituary
LaGretta McMahon, 83, was born on March 11, 1943, in Dunn, North Carolina, to the late Joseph and Helen Dew. She passed away on July 30, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of faith, love, and strength.
A devoted Jehovah’s Witness throughout her life, LaGretta’s faith was a guiding force in all that she did. Her devotion shaped the way she lived, loved, and cared for others, and it remained a source of comfort and strength throughout her life.
LaGretta graduated from Harnett High School in Dunn, North Carolina, in 1960. She dedicated most of her adult life to public service through her work with the federal government. After a long and accomplished career, she retired as an accountant from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
LaGretta was one of six children, five girls and one boy, born to Joseph and Helen Dew. She was preceded in death by her parents, all five of her siblings, and her oldest grandchild, Henri’.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted son, Stephon, and his wife, Cassandra; her grandchildren, Kamaron, Kanye, and Brian; her great-granddaughter, Kristian; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
LaGretta will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and deep love for her family. She was feisty, quick-witted, and fun-loving, and she brought warmth and laughter to those around her. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, and taking cruises. Her lively spirit and memorable sense of humor made every gathering brighter.
Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. Those who knew and loved LaGretta will remember her strength, her faith, her laughter, and the unwavering love she gave to her family.
