Larry J Silva

Larry J Silva, age 80, of Huntingtown, MD passed on September 5th, 2025. Born to Antone Silva and Caroline Castro in Wailuku, Maui in the Territory of Hawaii on December 31st, 1944. Beloved father of Steven J Silva (Jamie) and Kevin T. Silva. Brother of Patricia “Caroline” Lopez (Chris), Kenneth (Carol) Dacanay, Vincent (Van Ness) Dacanay. Preceded in death by sisters Theresa (Stanley) Texeira, and MaryLouise (Jamie) Gorospe, and brothers Anthony (Leila) Silva, and Paul (Elanor) Dacanay.

Larry graduated from Molokai High in 1962. He joined the Army at 17 and was stationed in Germany as a radar technician during his time of service. Later in his career he had the privilege of working on the Apollo program tracking the moon landing and other missions. In 1988, Larry graduated the University of Maryland with a degree of “Bachelor of Science.” The remainder of his career was spent within the aerospace industry, where he worked as an Industrial Engineer.

Larry’s greatest love was his 5 granddaughters Anna Keefer, Melody, Aubrey, Makena, and Stella Silva. He loved to brag about them and all their accomplishments. He found joy in watching LSU college football, food, baseball, and fishing. His final days were spent with family and friends surrounded by love.
