Lewis Douglas (Doug) Stoneman, Sr. passed away April 25, 2013. Mr. Stoneman was a resident of Waldorf, Maryland. Doug was born August 2, 1942 to the late Eddie and Catherine (Copeland) Stoneman. Doug was the loving husband of 43 years to Geraldyne (Deana) Seitz Stoneman. She was the "Love of His Life." Doug leaves behind his sister, Barbara Chenowirth of Kansas. Two Children, Denise and Lewis Doug. Four grandchildren, Christina Beavers Jordan, Heather Babazadeh, and Michael and Larissa Beavers, Sr. Three great-grandchildren, Michael Beavers, Jr. Hope Jordan and Tristan Beavers.
Doug served in the Navy from 1961 to 1965. Doug Worked in IT most of his life until he retired. Doug loved to travel with his family and friends. He enjoyed going to the beach and also take daily rides with his wife Deana to nowhere. Doug enjoyed life to the fullest. The family home was always filled with family and friends and kids. As his children and their friends children grew up and had kids, not only was he grandpa to his own, he was grandpa Doug to everyone's kids. Once you entered the Stoneman family domain, you always had family for life. This is one thing he instilled into his children also. He was the most kind hearted man and would do anything for anyone. Doug was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and Elks Lodge.
Doug is also preceded in death by his son David Stoneman, his brother Jerry Wayne Stoneman, his grandparents country music legend Pop and Hattie (Frost) Stoneman, and grandparents, Sally M. and William Joseph Copeland.
Family will receive friend at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 10:00 to 12:00 noon, where funeral services will be held at 12 noon. Burial will be at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, Maryland. A repass will be held at the family home. Pall bearers will be: Michael Beaver's, Sr., James Steinbach, Tommy Morrison,Sean Corcoran, Stephen Steinbach and Thomas Steinbach.
