Born on December 30, 1948, in Washington, DC to Marion Perdue and Morton Perdue. Linda was an integral part of the community to include the Melwood workforce for many years, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality service and teamwork. She took great pride in her work at the Hooks and Hangers resale store and many other business establishments in Southern Maryland. Her favorite pastimes were listening to Elvis Presley, watching the Andy Griffith show, doing puzzles, word search puzzles, quilt making, knitting, cooking, baking, getting her nails done and simply having a cup of coffee with her momma. Some of her favorite memories were traveling with the family on beach trips and most recently traveling the world on cruise ships with her longtime caregiver and friend Wanda. She idolized her big brother and her eyes lit up every time he walked in the room. Her greatest joy was her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews and spending time with them and she was always bragging about her family and friends. She received many awards at the Charles County Fair for her beautiful handmade quilts.
She was preceded in death by her mother Marion Perdue, her father Morton (Slim) Perdue, her sister Barbara Eileen Orndorff, and her sister Joanne Ruppert. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Robert Perdue (Joyce Perdue) of Annapolis, MD and her brother-in-law Micheal Orndorff of Citrus Springs, Florida. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and her caregivers, family, and friends at Providence of Maryland.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff and caregivers at Providence of Maryland whose unwavering compassion, patience, and exceptional care truly made it a home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Providence of Maryland to support their ongoing activities and care programs. This can be done by visiting their website at https://providenceofmaryland.org and clicking on the donate button and dedicating the donation in Linda’s name.
Memorial Services will be held at Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf, MD on Saturday July 25th from 10am-12pm with fellowship to follow immediately after at the funeral Home.
Her memory, smile and infectious laugh will forever live on in our hearts.
