Margaret E. Smoot, Known by many as “Penny.” Died on March 7th 2012 in Waldorf. Born in Clear Creek, VA. She was the wife of the late William A. “Buck” Smoot. She is survived by her daughters Nancy A. Cotsonis, Patricia L. Northern, Carole J. Schlosser and June M. Ford, many grand, great and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Penny was a long time resident of Charles County. She retired from The Maryland Bank & Trust. She enjoyed drawing and painting. Known by many and missed by all, her family will receive friends at The Huntt Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 &6-8 PM where services will be held on Friday March 16th at 11AM. She will be laid to rest at Trinity Memorial Gardens near her son and daughter Dennis L. Merrifield and Joyce D. Bullard
