Maryellen is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Henry Y. Douglass Jr.
She is predeceased by her Mother Jean Ashley, Nee Masterson, and her Father Herman Ashley.
Maryellen is also survived by her brother Richard Ashley and his wife Judy of Michigan, their son Allan Ashley and his wife Michele and their son Joshua and their daughter Barbara and her husband Donald Holliday and their son Ethan, her brother John Ashley and his wife Susan also of Michigan and their daughter Kimberly and her husband Donald White and their son Courtney.
Her sister in law Barbara and her husband Michael D. Parkinson and their children Frank W. Miller Jr., Glendon F. Miller and Michael T. Parkinson and his wife Jennifer.
Maryellen was loved by her God Daughter Anna Beckett and her husband Kyle and many others.
Maryellen and her Dad would often argue in a loving way which football team was better Michigan or Michigan State.
Maryellen enjoyed reading, singing in the choir at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Waldorf, Maryland.
Her hobbies were needlepoint, crocheting, gardening, playing games on her computer, watching people, going to craft fairs and shows while on vacation in Tennessee with her husband.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 305 East Smallwood Drive, Waldorf, Maryland 20602 at 11:00am.
