Michael W. Mears, "Mike" died May 8, 2011 at Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton, Maryland at the age of 52. He was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Mears. Brother of the late Daniel Mears. Survived by loving wife Sheryl Mears and life long friends Mark and Linda Kirkwood. Mike's passion was drag racing at The M.I.R. at Budd's Creek. He graduated from Suitland High School, Prince Georges County in 1977. Mike loved his cats. He served in the U.S. Navy as a jet engine mechanic and airline checker on The Eisenhower. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland where funeral service will be on Saturday, May 14, 2011 @ 10:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mike's name to the Charles County Humane Society of Charles County, P.O. Box 1015 Waldorf, Maryland 20604
