

Peggy Jo Echeverria died August 4, 2011 at her home in Waldorf, Maryland at the age of 71. Mrs. Echeverria worked in the accounting department for HDW, Ltd. for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, decorating and spending time at the beach. Other past times included watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, and her beloved Detroit Tigers and Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. However, the greatest joy of her life was her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was kind hearted and caring and always went out of her way to help others. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles Emory Blevins and Laura Mae Blevins, son Greg and brother Charles. Survivors include: husband Alex, daughters: Patti Lockrow and her husband, Jim of LaPlata and Sharon Thurman and her husband, Jim of Waldorf, son: Eddie Lewis, Jr. of Lothian, grandsons: Kyle and Ryan Lockrow, Jimmy Lewis, Jeremy and Jimmy Thurman, granddaughter: Nicole Bobbit and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Carolyn Hahn, Gail Harrison, and Peggy Thompson and brothers Wallace Amos and Bob Amos and their spouses, along with many loving nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 14, 2011 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland where funeral service will be on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Maryland Veterans' Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland. The Rev. Robert Kosty will officiate.
