"Peggy Ann James-Wilson, native of Washington, D.C., wife of Raymond Wilson, mother of Brian and Kim, step-mother of Sherry Wilson-Robinson, sister of Gloria, Linda, and Darlene, daughter of Kathleen and Julius, grandmother of Mike, Jr., Marcus, and Myles, aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, and co-worker and friend to countless others transitioned to her heavenly home on July 9.
She was the strong foundation that carried her immediate and extended family through several instances of grief; the independent and organized former staff assistant who ran her pre- and post- retirement life at home as efficiently as a work office; and the sociable spark who lit up every room with a perennial smile, laugh, and kind heart.
The frequent stores and restaurants her and Raymond went to off Route 301. Her sweet smile in countless pictures and videos. The smiling, gentle voice on phone calls and voice messages. The chastising when her son forgot to call on a birthday or other special occasion. The delicious meals, legendary potato bread rolls, and desserts made for immediate family or extended family gatherings in Anne Arundel County. The precious time spent on cruises, road trips, and in her Southern Maryland living room. The proud mom who lived to see both kids become college graduates and homeowners.
Peggy warmed and enriched lives with her presence, wisdom, and example. "If I didn't do anything else, I produced two amazing children," she told her son while reflecting on her legacy shortly after Kim passed away. .She not only did that, but inspired us all with a life that personified love."
