Phil passed away in Wilmington NC at his Daughter Kelly’s Home on Monday July 26th at the age of 79.
Phil served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1983, he rose to the rank of Chief Master Sargent, the highest rank an enlisted man can attain. He retired from the Air Force in 1983 and took a job with the GSA as the Officer in charge of passenger services at Andrews Air Force Base. He held that position from1983 to 1993 when he retired. Phil lived in Brandywine Maryland for 10 years and then moved to Venice FL, Charlotte NC and ended up in Wilmington NC in 2017 where he lived out his life close to his family.
Phil was preceded in death by both parents, Linda (Ball) Webb and George H. Stone; Brothers Roy Stone and Clinton Stone and Mother in Law Lucile Kenley, who lived with Phil and Judy most of her life (Nana)
Phil will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life for 57 years Judy Ann Ball; children: Son Philip Todd Ball and wife Melissa; Daughter Kelly Ann Goss and husband Blaine; grandchildren: Kristina Marie Bladel and Husband John; Katheryn A. Goss; Bradley M Goss and wife Olivia; Jessica Lynn Ball; Brenton M Goss; Kasey E. Goss; great grandchild Evie M Goss.
Phil will be remembered lovingly by family and life long friends , Paul Arneson and wife Betty; Charles Burke and Wife Jeanette; and especially Phil’s younger brother Wayne Thomason and Wife Sandy (Wayne called Phil Every Night the last year of his life.) All of Roy, Clinton and Wayne’s children (Phil’s nephew’s and Nieces); with a special remembrance from Clinton’s children Greg Stone and wife Connie; Laura Kelly and Husband Paul; Chris Stone; Norma Stone; Troy Stone and wife Teresa
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 3, 3031 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Hunt Funeral Home 3035 Old Washington Road Waldorf, Maryland. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 AM Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at St. Peters Catholic Church 3220 St. Peters Drive Waldorf, MD 20601. Interment St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery Waldorf, MD. Philip was an avid Animal lover and loved and treated his dogs like family members. In Leu of flowers, he wanted everyone to make a donation to their nearest animal shelter in his name.
