October 26, 1962 – September 10, 2026
With heavy hearts and loving memories, we celebrate the life of Robert “Chef” Passaglia, who passed away on September 10, 2026, in Ocean City, Maryland, at the age of 63.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Robert grew up in Schaumburg, Illinois, before making his home in Derwood, Maryland. Throughout his life, he built lasting memories, meaningful friendships, and a legacy of love that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Robert lived a life fueled by passion, purpose, and the things he loved most. As an Executive Chef, he dedicated himself to his craft, bringing skill, creativity, and a love of food to his work. He was a mentor and a friend to everyone he worked with. His career reflected his passion and his appreciation for the art of creating something special.
Beyond the kitchen, Robert found freedom and joy on the open road. An avid motorcycle rider and proud member of the Exiled Souls Motorcycle Club, he cherished the brotherhood, camaraderie, and adventure that came with the ride. The rumble of a motorcycle, the open highway, and the friendships forged along the way were an important part of who he was.
Above all, Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and whose lives will forever be shaped by the memories they shared with him.
Robert is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynn Lawrence; his daughter, Ashley Ciliak, and her husband, Stephen, and grandchildren, Winn and Paige; and his son, Jarrett Passaglia.
He is also survived by his sister, Christine Passaglia Bernacchi, and her husband, Francisco Morales; his brother, Frank Passaglia, and his wife, Mary; and his brother, Michael Passaglia, and his wife, Debbi.
Robert is further survived by his treasured in-laws, Don and Carol Buckman, Lucia Lawrence, and Leigh O’Brien, and his nephew, Kyle O’Brien. Their love and support remain a cherished part of his family’s life.
He was preceded in death by his dearly loved parents, Roy and Muriel Passaglia, whose memory will forever be a part of his story.
Though Robert’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his spirit will live on through the family he cherished, the friendships he built, the meals he created, and the miles he traveled.
Today, we celebrate not only the life Robert lived, but the love he gave, the memories he created, and the lasting mark he left on those fortunate enough to know him. His journey may have ended here, but his spirit rides on in the hearts of all who love him.
Rest easy, Robert. May the road rise to meet you, the skies always be clear, and the ride go on forever. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
