

After graduating from Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, Roger joined the Army Reserves, where he served for six years. He began a career as a meat cutter, later becoming a meat manager, a role he held at A&P and Woodburns until retiring to Southwest Virginia in God’s country.
Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting with his coonhounds, playing pitch and horseshoes, dancing, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles, and Virginia Tech Hokies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Theola, Harriet Ann, and Lois; brothers Billy and Wayne; and son Roger Jr. He is survived by Audrey - his wife of 63 years - sisters Esther and Claire; sons Ronald (daughter-in-law Bonnie) and Jeff; daughter Audra (son-in-law Tim); grandchildren Josh, Kevin, Jacob, Kyle, Chad Harrison, Lily, Bridgette, and Trevor; and great grandchildren Sean and Wyatt.
Pallbearers will be Kevin McCloskey, Jacob Myers, Kyle Shaw, Chad Harrison Myers, Bridgette Myers, and Sean McCloskey. Honorary Pallbearer Josh Myers.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association
