Ruth is survived by her 3 living siblings, sister Ella, sister Mary and brother in law Mike, brother Johnny and sister in law Terri, and sister in law Dorothy. Her 5 children, Vickie, her husband James, Frank, his wife Jamie, Helen, Kenneth, and Keith (deceased). Ruth was also a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren. Ruth was known for her love of shopping and enjoying lunch at Longhorn where she frequented so much she knew the staff. Ruth would shop anywhere she could to find a deal. Even if she already had enough supplies of something if it was on sale she would buy more. “I like to stock up” is something she would say. From playing lotto numbers every day and keno was some of her favorite things to do. She wanted to hit big to take care of all of us. Ruth loved to play cards so much that she had a cup of change in the cabinet in the kitchen ready at all times. She even taught all the grandkids and great grandkids how to play, so we could all play with her. She enjoyed cooking for the family, watching all the grandkids until they were grown and then started watching their kids. She loved having a full house with us laughing and eating together. Whether it was a holiday or just a Wednesday, because she got the Popeyes chicken coupon out of the penny-saver. Her love her Jerry Springer, Price is Right, Family Fued, and Maury, you’d catch her rocking in the recliner laughing away or shouting out some answers. Oh and the news, she knew everything that was happening and was calling to tell everyone what she read in the newspaper, or seen on tv. She didn’t miss a beat. She called everyone on their birthdays, never missed one. If you didn’t answer she would leave a voicemail to make sure you heard “Happy Birthday, have a good day, and I love ya!” I know you all heard that “I love ya” ♥️ She was a coupon clipping, longhorn steak eating, catching all the deals, lotto playing, poker & rummy dealing, loving, strong, independent, hard working, woman, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend. Nobody will ever be like ole Ruthie!! (she did not like when Kincaid called her that)
Momma, Grandma, Grandmar, Mam-maw, GG, the many names she was called will be deeply missed but always remembered for her laughter, kindness, and unwavering love for her family.
