He was born in Mount Hope, West Virginia, graduated from Washington & Lee University and the Medical College of Virginia. He served in the U.S. Navy and practiced medicine in Brandywine and Waldorf for 51 years. He was also a member of the Brandywine Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Carapetian Fieldson, and his children: Stephanie Fieldson DeFilippo (James), Gregory Fieldson (Sara) and Christine Fieldson Ashrafzedeh (Amin); and his grandsons: Michael, Daniel, Armand, Cameron, Samuel, Aram, Joshua and William. He is also survived by his brother Charles Fieldson and sister Maxine Fieldson, his brothers-in-law Varoujan Koundakjian and Ed Zucchini, his sisters-in-law Armineh Koundakjian and Nadya Carapetian and his nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Huntt Funeral Home Waldorf, Maryland on Friday November 15, 2013 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday November 16, 2013 at St.Thomas’ Episcopal Church Upper Marlboro, Maryland at 11am. The burial will follow at St.Thomas’ Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Thomas Larkin Fieldson, MD to the American Heart Association or to the Lions Club of Brandywine, Maryland.
