Virginia “Lee” Ullman, 77 of Mechanicsville, MD passed peacefully on June 26, 2021 at home. She was born on March 8, 1944 in Washington, DC to the late Charles Ray Rister and Doris Virginia (Culver) Rister.
“Lee” married the love of her life, Roger Lewis Ullman on November 8, 1963 and again on December 7, 1963. Together they raised two daughters: Stacy Lynn Guy (Jimmy) and Misty Dawn Lallande (JJ), four grandchildren: Travis James Guy, Corey Matthew Guy, Kelsea Leigh Lallande, and Mitchell Berkeley Lallande, and was the sister to: Nancy Claire Tucker, Frankie Lynn Vickers (Wayne), brother Charles Ray Rister, Jr. (Debbie) and brother-in-law Dennis Posey.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Esther May Posey and Charleen Ray Pauley (Rex).
Lee “raised” many children through her lifetime of babysitting and took care of them just like she would her own children. Later in life, she worked through other jobs but loved her time at Evan’s Seafood, where they became family. Many know her for her love of crafting, she never lacked for a project to be done. Her crochet hook was never empty, which lead to many blankets being given as gifts and donations given to nursing homes and Hospice. Another great memory that many will have of her was her love of cooking: carrot cakes, zucchini bread, fudge, fried chicken, potato salad and stuffed ham..just to name a few.
She was cared for at home, which was her wish, by her two daughters and niece Joy Paige Dickerson. The family would like to thank the staff at MedStar St. Mary’s Home Health and Hospice of St. Mary’s that took amazing care of her. We couldn’t have done it without you.
There will be no services, as those were her wishes.
Memorial contributions may be made in Virginia Lee’s name to: Hospice of St. Mary’s https://www.hospiceofstmarys.org/ways-to-give/
