William Robert Dodson “Bill” was born in Washington, DC on December 23,1953 and passed away on June 23, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. His parents Alice Mary Dodson(Daras) and Richard Leroy “Reds” Dodson welcomed him into a large loving family. He retired from the Federal Government after a 27 year career as a Building Manager serving the Government Services Administration (GSA). Bill was a family man first and foremost, dedicating his life to the care of his sisters, brothers, wife, children and granddaughter. His generous and genuine heart touched all who knew him. His love had no boundaries and he was blessed with wit and humor that could brighten the darkest day. Bill is preceded in death by his father, mother, sisters, and older brother. He is survived by his wife (Vicki Dodson), brother (James “JD” Dodson), sister (Franny Padgett) two sons (William Dodson Jr. and Redmond Dodson), his daughter (Michele Dodson) granddaughter (Launa Burch) and an army of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Per Bill's wishes there will be no funeral services at this time. His family asks that you remember him fondly with laughs and jokes. Honor his life by loving with an open heart and a generous soul. He will be missed all the days of our lives. Thank you to family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.

the most loved man to ever walk this earth and the wisest. I believe he still put his family first even in death . I think thats one of the reasons he chose creamation and no services and I ll be forever grateful for this as none of us could bear to see him there or say goodbye. Now we can remember the handsome, funny and generous man he truly was. No bad memories. Thank you uncle billy and bless you vicki for honoring his wishes and life as he had hoped for.
