

Arlene was born at home on December 27, 1948 to Elizabeth Goudy Doublerunner and Anthony Doublerunner. Arlene is an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation, Blackfeet descendant and member of the 1910 Shaker Church. She graduated from high school in The Dalles, Oregon and attended college at Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon and Central Washington University, Ellensburg, Washington. She held various program management positions in mental health, aging and WIC at the Yakama Nation. She worked for many years with the Division of Child Support for DSHS in Kennewick, Tacoma and Yakima offices. Arlene last worked as a Tribal Judge in the Court of Appeals for the Yakama Nation.
She loved going to Pow Wows across the U.S., doing beadwork, making traditional necklaces, shawls, reading novels and going to the movies. She also enjoyed going to the casino to play slots and bingo.
Surviving family members include: Son, Phillip Stevens and his companion Priscilla Gardee of White Swan; Former daughter-in-law Alysia Stevens of Toppenish; Four grandchildren: Jerrilyn Stevens, Phillips Stevens Jr., Tara Moore and Cianne Moore; Siblings: Laurice Kermani of Yakima, Roseanna Doublerunner of Toppenish, Albert and wife Rebecca Doublerunner of Harrah, Janet and husband Thomas Gone of Toppenish, and Darryl Doublerunner of Toppenish; Aunts: Sophie Hunt, Louella George, Arlene George and Noreen George; Uncles: Alphonse Little Mustache of the Piikani Nation, Bobby Burdeau Sr. and Joe Burdeau. She is also survived by seven nieces, four nephews, numerous Yakama, Blackfeet/Piikani relatives and special friends Agnes Tulee and Nesha Jackson.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Goudy Doublerunner and Anthony Doublerunner; sisters June Doublerunner and Kathleen Quill; Sons Arlyn Stevens, Aaron Weaselhead Stevens and Patrick Stevens; and niece Judy Quill.
Dressing services will be held at Merritt Funeral Home on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Arlene will then be taken to the 1910 Shaker Church for evening services and funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. Arlene’s final resting place will be at the 1910 Shaker Church Cemetery.
