

Don worked in construction helping to build the Space needle and many of the skyscrapers in Denver, Colorado. He then became a security Guard for the Yakima Airport and prior to retirement worked in security for the Yakima Legends Casino.
In his younger years, Don enjoyed traveling to various reservations playing baseball. He also loved leatherworking and fishing the Columbia and Mt. Adams Lake. Donald was also a proud member of the Yakama Nation.
Don is survived by his loving daughter Victoria A. Zack and her significant other Adriane Moody; sisters, Mary Settler and Connie Sonn; grandchildren Donald Zack, John (Sade) Zack, LeRoy Owens, Cameron Owens, Vernon Owens Jr. and Joshua Owens; great-granddaughter Evelyn Ann Zack; nieces Gina Homer and Angel Zack; nephews Leonard and Brian Dupree; and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Zack, his parents Joseph and Sarah; and his brother Ronald Zack.
A Dressing and Funeral Service will be held today, Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10 a.m.at Merritt Funeral Home. A memorial dinner will follow at the Toppenish Community Center starting at 1:30 p.m. Merritt Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
