

Jose David Garcia, 50, of Wapato, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jose was born July 15, 1962 in Raymondville, TX. His family moved to the Harrah area when he was a young boy. He later moved to Wapato.
Jose worked 20+ years for Western RV before the business closed. He then began working at Cascade Brush Co until illness in 2011 forced his early retirement. Jose loved his family and being with them. He enjoyed watching his kids play sports in school and on the weekends. He also liked cruising in his 1978 Monte Carlo and working on cars. He loved to fish and have BBQ’s. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children, Emily (Jose) Lopez of Wapato, DJ (Amy) Garcia, Jr. of Yakima, Eddie Ortiz, Janette (Orlando Daza) Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Arianna Garcia and Angel Garcia, all of Wapato; and 14 grandchildren, Josuel, Jose, Joel, Noel, Evelyna, Malaki, Lucius, Armani, Eddie, Kyriah, Jeramy, Jaelynn, Alex and Alexis; also a brother, Juan (Senaida) Garcia of Yakima and sisters, Mary Zuniga of Wapato, Imelda Garcia of Pasco, Petra (Jose) Murillo of Florida, Alicia DeLeon of Yakima and Delia (Francisco) Alvarez of Florida.
He was preceded in death by parents Leonor B. Garcia and Pedro G. Garcia; sisters, Paula Rosales, Beatriz Carrillo, Andrea Sanchez, and Cristela Garcia.
Viewing is Thursday, June 27, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Short Remembrance Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home in Wapato. Funeral Services will be Friday, June 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Reservation Community Memorial park.
