

Mary T. Lange born November 30, 1930 passed on May 22, 2013 at the age of 82 following a battle with breast cancer after being diagnosed in 2008. Her parents, William and Anna Gasseling, brothers, William, Joseph and Leo Gasseling, all preceded her in death. Mary was born and raised in Wapto. Her accomplished education consisted of obtaining her B.A. in education from Holy Names College, Spokane Washington, and a Master of Science Degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, continuing her education in the accounting field.
Mary was a published author in the medical field. For 30 years she was a research assistant/associate of the Department of Biological Sciences, SUNYA, Albany, New York, until moving back to Yakima to work and be with family especially her brothers.
Mary was not only an accomplished baker but a gardner as well. Fun was had playing bunko with her family and friends. She became an advocate of pet adoption by adopting a dog, Molly, and cat, Holly. Over the years she became skilled in identifying birds of all kind. Aunt Mary, known to many as that, is survived by sister-in-law, Theresa Gasseling, and numerous nieces and nephews. Aunt Mary's family would like to thank Dr. Bansal, Tiffany and staff and Dr. Richard Boyd for their care of her over the years. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice.
