

Sibyl Ann Austin, 56, passed away on January 13th 2013 in Wapato.
Sibyl was born April 19, 1956 in Aberdeen, WA to the late Mary and Nelson James.
Sibyl enjoyed many hobbies including basket weaving, beadwork, native jewelry and holiday arts and crafts. Decorating for the holidays was always a must. She lived in Seattle most of her life until she moved to the Yakima Valley to care for her mother. Her home was a place where everyone wanted to be at, she enjoyed the company of many kids who knew her and called her mom.
Sibyl is survived by her husband, William Lee Austin “Punky” of Wapato, her children Aaron Douglas, Nelson Douglas, Elijah James, Magon Douglas and Katina James; her son and daughter in laws, Jared Ashlock, Rudy Aragon and Lisa Vega; her brother Virgil James; sisters, Joann Wahpat and Dorthie James; grandchildren, Michael Hart, Jonathan Vega, Adreyan Vega, Olivia Douglas, Jesse Ashlock, Ava Aragon, Sophia Aragon and Markis Ashlock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson & Mary James.
A dressing service will be held at Merritt Funeral Home on Wednesday January 16, 2013 at 10 am, with an overnight service to follow at the Toppenish Community Center. Burial will be held on Thursday at 9 am at the Elmwood Cemetery.
Merritt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
